Hello! Thank you for checking out Shopping and Sewing. My name is Amy, and I’ve been into sewing and shopping since I was young. One of the first things I ever sewed, when I was around the age of 9, was a very ugly pair of shorts made out of a bright pink plaid.
Luckily, my style (and sewing ability) has evolved since then. These days, I’m into a business-y look, even though I work from home as a writer (you can find out more about that here). While button-ups and pencil skirts might be my day-to-day style, I still go for the occasional stand-out, eye-catching piece or outfit.
Back when I started this blog, my goal was to review garments I tried on at favorite stores such as J.Crew, Banana, and Kate Spade and to write up reviews of patterns. But, just as I’m no longer into pink plaid shorts, the blog’s evolved a bit over time.
These days, you’ll still find reviews of clothing, but also tips on capsule wardrobes, developing personal style, and opinion pieces on the fast fashion world we live in.
Thanks for reading and feel free to reach out to me on social media or leave a comment if you have any questions!
